Dr. Patel is originally from Nairobi, Kenya. He moved to Texas for college and attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then attended the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he learned to embrace a holistic approach to medicine early in his career. In 2008, he arrived in San Antonio to train in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. He also completed a pain fellowship at UT Health San Antonio (2013) and has been a part of the faculty at UT Health since graduation where he continues to be actively involved in resident and pain fellow education.

In addition to providing balanced and compassionate care to his patients, Dr. Patel also believes in the power of learning and educating. He is involved in multiple anesthesia and pain societies which keeps him updated with the latest advances and research in pain management and anesthesiology. He has been involved in various publications and has presented at national and international society meetings. When not at work, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with family and dogs, hiking and watching sports.
